Cellulose fibers for improvement of building chemical products

Ecological construction materials have become more and more popular thanks to an increased environment-oriented way of thinking. There are two main functions that can be allocated to these products, the so called building biological and the building ecological benefit. From the building biological point of view products with cellulose fibers can be perfectly processed and resist even extreme climate conditions. The water bound in the TECHNOCEL-fibers is subjected to a reduced freezing point of down to -70 centigrades. In addition, the consequent application of cellulose fibers in building chemical products supports the inhabitants' health and thus improves their living conditions considerably. When materials adjust themselves to their environment without a problem and protect its sensitive balance, then this called the building ecological aspect. TECHNOCEL-fibers for the construction industry are produced with very low energy consumption and spare our precious resources already during the manufacture of the product.

Correct selection of the product requires consideration of the following criteria:

-Application (adhesives, plasters, filling compounds, paints, etc.)
-Utilisation (tile adhesives, textured coatings, emulsion paints, etc.)
-Manufacturing process (dosing, mixing)
-Binding agent basis (cement, gypsum, calcareous hydrate, bitumen, etc.)

Bitumen Applications

Cellulose fibers are a healthy and ecological replacement for asbestos in building chemical applications and have meanwhile been established as a standard application. Cellulose provides the final product with comparable properties as were formerly obtained by the application of asbestos fibers, which are meanwhile regarded as extremely hazardous.

The advantages of TECHNOCEL-fibers in bitumen applications are:

-Optimum processability
-Considerable thickening effects
-Excellent anti-sagging
-Thermal resistance (> 90°C)
-Crack inhibitance
-Considerable layer thickness

Applications:

-Bitumen varnishes
-Bitumen adhesives
-Bitumen filling compounds

Paints

TECHNOCEL-fibers are mainly used in emulsion paints, in order to obtain numerous properties in the final products, which help the user to obtain best possible results when processing the paints as well as after completion. Our finest powder from the TECHNOCEL product range is often applied in special purpose paints.

-Improvement of viscosity and flow control characteristics
-Reduced density
-Tarnishing effects
-Increased wet film reinforcement
-Imaginary higher opacity

TECHNOCEL-fibers will be applied mostly in emulsion paints and special purpose paints.

Adhesives and filling compounds

Cracks are a most common problem when applying adhesives and filling compounds. TECHNOCEL overcomes this problem by mixing texturising fibers into the recipe. TECHNOCEL will also help you to obtain other positive effects, such as:

-Suppression of shrinking cracks
-Excellent processability, as the related mass is easier to grind
-Reduction of the bonding effect of methyl cellulose (MC)
-Improved anti-sagging
-Positive influence on open time

Application possibilities of TECHNOCEL vary from flexible tile adhesives and filling compounds to joint filling and repair compounds.

Plasters and renderings

Application of TECHNOCEL-fibers in many different types of plasters and renderings provides and especially ensures flexibility in the final application.

-Improved anti-sagging
-Prevention of cracks during drying
-Prevention of de-mixing of dry mixes

Applications:

-Mineral bonding plasters
-Insulating renderings
-Textured decorative coatings

Antinoise films

Antinoise films prevent the engine noise from entering the tonneau. TECHNOCEL-fibers build up a three-dimensional skeleton in the final product, thus reducing the final product's weight considerably.

In this way TECHNOCEL improves the final product's temperature resistance and increases its flexibility.

Antinoise films are mainly used in the industrial sector in the production of noise deadening sheets for cars and, e.g., washing machines.

Friction linings

In friction linings TECHNOCEL is applied, in order to improve the green stability in humid condition. Here cellulose has replaced the asbestos fibers, which are well-known for being hazardous to health.

Advantages:
On one hand an improved green stability is obtained and on the other hand also a de-mixing prevention effect. Application possibilities of TECHNOCEL-fibers in friction linings vary from brake linings for motocycles and cars up to truck brake shoes and pads. Furthermore, TECHNOCEL can be applied in the production of railway brake shoes and pads.
