TOPCEL® add

TOPCEL® add – Individual solution for asphalt modification

TOPCEL® add are a range of multi-component pellets developed by CFF for use in the production of specific asphalt types. The TOPCEL® add pellets are made from the proven TECHNOCEL® cellulose fibre as carrier material as well as various bitumen-modifying additives depending on product type. You will receive an all-in-one product for the fibre dosage and bitumen modification in one workflow right at the asphalt mixing plant. TOPCEL® add is used around the world in the production of Stone Mastic Asphalt, highly stable asphalt binding layers and other bitumen rich asphalt mixtures.

Advantages of TOPCEL® add FT multi-component pellets:

  • modification and stabilisation of asphalt with only one product and one workflow
  • simple dosage at the asphalt mixing plant by automatic pellet dosing system
  • low temperature mixing is possible
  • more effective compaction up to the critical temperature range
  • improvement of compacting properties, especially at critical weather conditions (compacting agent)
  • improvement of asphalt stability and service life

TOPCEL® add FT60 to reduce the mixing temperatures

TOPCEL® add FT60 is made of 60% cellulose fibre and 40% bitumen additive (FT-wax) for mixing temperature reduction. The main application is the production of low-temperature asphalt (cf. M TA bulletin for temperature-reduced asphalts, FGSV Verlag GmbH, Cologne, 2007). The enclosed FT-wax changes the viscosity of the bitumen so that the mixing temperatures can be reduced by 20°C, depending on paving and weather conditions. The crystalline structure of the additive in the asphalt increases the stability clearly after cooling and prevents the rutting effect considerably.

TOPCEL® add FT75 to improve the paving properties

TOPCEL® add FT75 is made of 75% cellulose fibre and 25% bitumen additive (FT-wax) to improve the asphalt properties during laying process. The main application is the reduction of bitumen viscosity, while the mixing temperature remains at a normal level. This permits an increased effectiveness of compaction up to the critical temperature range. The low viscosity clearly supports manual paving of the asphalt. Lane groove formation is reduced.

  • modification and stabilisation of asphalt with only one product and one workflow
  • simple dosage at the asphalt mixing plant by automatic pellet dosing system
  • improvement of affinity if critical aggregates must be used
  • extension of bitumen coating at the aggregates by around 8% (24h Rolling-Bottle-Test)
