Optimise your Nutri-Score by using dietary fibres
What you should know about the Nutri-Score
The Nutri-Score is a labelling system on a voluntarily basis which was developed by independent scientists. Foods and drinks are rated according to its nutritional profile and classified by a coloured letter scale from A (nutritionally favourable choice) to E (nutritionally unfavourable choice) and printed on the front of the packaging of a product. The Nutri-Score serves as decision-making tool and is a label which is immediately understandable for the consumers.
Our SANACEL® dietary fibre concentrates are used in versatile food applications. The simple addition and the high dietary fibre content allow a significant improvement of the Nutri-Scores. Our dietary fibres are gained from sustainable raw materials and produced using a gentle production process as well as proved and analyzed under highest quality policies. Do not hesitate – set new standards for your products!
How is it calculated?
The calculation follows official guidelines of the Santé Publique France. Thereby unfavourable nutritive components receive plus points. This concerns energy, sugar, saturated fatty acids and sodium (salt).Dietary fibres, proteins, vegetables, fruits, selected oils and nuts belong to the favourable nutritive components. Here minus points are grated.
At first points from 0 - 10 are given for the unfavourable nutritive components. The is done for the favourable nutritive components whereby 0 - 5 points are possible.
In order to calculate the total points the sum of the favourable nutritive componentsis deducted from the unfavourable nutritive components. The lower the points of the Nutri-Scores, the higher the nutritional quality of the foods and drinks.
