TECHNOCEL® cellulose fibers provides capillaries in the production process
Polyurethanes are the most important polymers for the production of micro-porous synthetic leather.
In the most important production method, the coagulation process, polyurethane is solved in dimethylformamide and mixed with technical cellulose fiber. The mixture is brushed onto a textile carrier and submersed in a water bath. Then, dimethylformamide is replaced by water. The end product is synthetic leather.
The fibers provide capillaries in the production process. In the finished end product, TECHNOCEL® cellulose fibers improve steam permeability or breathability as well as mechanical stability.
